EMS/First Aid Team Coverage Guidelines
Please review the following guidelines when requesting EMS/First Aid Coverage.
Thank you for your interest in our free volunteer service to the community!
1. Make EMS/First Aid Coverage Requests as soon in advance as feasible.
At least two weeks is normally required for preparation to provide coverage.
However, a months notice is requested in order to coordinate resources and
personnel. All requests made within two weeks of the date coverage is requested
for may be denied. Late requests mean fewer resources can be allocated, and
minimum numbers of personnel must be scheduled in order for a request to be
accepted.
2. First Aid Requests may require an evaluation visit before the coverage
request can be accepted.
3. Large scale events will require additional meetings with event management by
EMS/First Aid Supervisors as planning of the event proceeds.
4. Typically, our ambulances will be used as First Aid Stations in the field
during events, but depending on the event location and whether it is indoors
will determine if indoor stations will need to be established.
5. As a minimum, there will be one ambulance or first aid station with a crew on
duty at all times. Depending on crowd density and number, more units and
personnel may be assigned to work peek times of the event.
6. Please remember that the entire EMS/First Aid Dept. is a volunteer force,
and no one is reimbursed or paid for their services in anyway.
